The Promise of Oreo

It’s almost 2 years since Oreo and I ended our Long Distance Relationship. Our story that started in 2009 ended in 2011. The good thing about us is that we remain friends. In fact, we keep on sending each other messages, either via Facebook or Twitter.

My love for Oreo will always be there. We may never be lovers again but we’re definitely friends. We often tease each other about getting back to each other’s arms but that’s not a possibility at this time. First, he’s still in Saudi Arabia and I’m still here in Manila. Second, I really don’t know if he still loves me as a boyfriend or will he ever love me again. Our break-up was also traumatic to me and I can’t say for sure if I would say “Yes” if he ask me to be his lover again.

France and New Zealand recently allowed gay marriage in these countries and I’m teasing him into getting married in those countries. I’m also teasing him to give me a cellphone with Instagram capabilities and he said he’ll give me one. The question is, when will he return?

I’m glad that we’re still good friends in spite of what happened.

Happy 2nd Blogging Year Anniversary To Me

Two years ago, I decided to learn how to blog to keep in touch with my then-boyfriend Oreo so we could survive our Long Distance Relationship. He was working in Saudi Arabia at that time and I’m working as a kolboy (call center agent) in Taguig. I never imagined that I would still be blogging today and I’m determined to blog for a few more years.

blogging image

I never imagined that I would be able to learn how to blog using Blogger. Right now, I can say that I can do almost all things in Blogger. I also tried to learn how to blog in Wordpress but that was a total failure. I can’t even put the Nuffnang codes in my Wordpress blog (which was later shut down by Wordpress due to inactivity).

Right now, I have around 6 blogs which I’m trying to update regularly. So far, I haven’t received any check payments yet for the advertisements that appeared on those blogs. However, I have received A LOT of products and movie tickets from Nuffnang because of my blogging efforts. When I started blogging two years ago, I just wanted to keep in touch with my boyfriend. I never imagined that I would meet other bloggers, join online blogging contests and have advertisements on my blogs.

In that 2 years of blogging experience I have so far, I learned the basic rule of blogging – update your blogs regularly. If you’re posting updates once a week, it’s okay as long as it’s consistent. The key to have a regularly influx of online traffic is to blog regularly. That’s all there is to it.

If you’re planning to start blogging and thinks that you’ll get a whole lot of money out of it, I suggest that you divert your time and energy to something else. I’m not saying there is no money in blogging. There is money in blogging! It just takes a lot of time, like years. Blogging is like an investment. It doesn’t produce money overnight. You have to improve your craft, make friends, and give something to your readers. In time, money would come.

For those of you who enjoys sharing updates with your friends, loves to write, friendly and loves to be online all the time then try blogging. It would be a worthy experience. You’ll gain friends through blogging and would learn a lot of things about the Internet, software and a whole lot of stuff.

So, I just wanted to give myself a tap on the back and say Happy 2nd Blogging Anniversary To Me.

Penultimate Post

Penultimate means “next to the last”. So this is literally the second to the last post that you’ll be reading on this blog. The goal of this blog is to bring me and my lover Oreo closer to each other and it was never achieved. So I guess, the end of our relationship means the end of this blog as well.

As much as I wanted to give you a happy ending to the whole Elmer & Oreo relationship, it didn’t happen. Our relationship ended after two years of keeping in touch. It ended the day I met him, after two years.

Here’s what happened.

Oreo arrived October 2, 2011 and since then, he never texted me. I called him multiple times ever since he arrived but whenever I get hold of him, he’s either busy, sleepy (due to a drinking session), or he simply doesn’t answer the call. So I gave him two weeks for his friends and family.

After two weeks, he texted me. I thought he’ll meet me finally to have our private moment but he’s just instructing me to send him my “utang” (borrowed money) via M Lhuiller. I got mad and replied that I supposed to give it to him personally, which was our arrangement when I borrowed the money. So he agreed to meet me last October 14.

Before I even met him that day, I was already determined to break up with him because he’s totally ignoring me during his whole vacation. I felt left out. However, he brought along one of his friends during the meeting. I felt awkward to tell him how I wanted to break up with him because his friend doesn’t give us time alone. So I decided that I’ll just tell it to him next time we meet. So the meeting was business as usual. I paid him my loan, had some coffee with Oreo and his friend, chit chat, and gave him my gift. I never felt the urge to kiss him that day.

The-End

Last October 16, I just found out that he’s back in Saudi! I felt really mad that he didn’t even said goodbye properly. So I sent him this letter via FB and email telling him that I’m breaking up with him:

October 16, 2011 – 11:34 PM

Oreo,

Akala ko ba we would spend some time sa Sogo near Trinoma? Initially nga sabi mo sa EDSA Horizon Hotel. Tapos ngayon nasa KSA ka na. Sayang, ‘di ko tuloy nasabi sa ‘yo personally na I’m breaking up with you.

So akala ko, you would push through sa original plan mo na Sogo. At least, kung natuloy yun, nasabi ko sana sa ‘yo personally and I don’t need to tell it to you via email.

Kaya nung nagkita tayo sa Megamall, I can’t even kiss you, kahit sa cheeks. Di ko magawang halikan ang isang tao na ‘di ko na mahal, as boyfriend. I already considered you as an ex-bf and as a friend nung nagkita tayo sa Megamall. We don’t kiss our friends di ba? Lalo na sa lips.

Anyway, since nandyan ka na ulit sa KSA, sa FB at email ko na lang sasabihin sa ‘yo. I’m breaking up with you, again, with finality. Actually, nung mga bandang June pa ‘ko nakapag-move on thinking na hindi na tayo. I just gave you a second chance nung sinabi mo sa FB na tayo pa. So I gave you your second chance thinking na ‘pag bumalik ka this October, I might love you again.

Pero ano ginawa mo? You blew it up big time. You spend two weeks with your friends, drinking to your heart’s content. I’ve called you 4 times and you just ignored it. I texted you multiple times and even filed all my remaining leaves for you but you never bothered to give me a day of your hectic schedule. Tapos gusto mo pa, ipadala ko sa ‘yo via MLhuiller yung utang ko para ‘di mo talaga ako makita during your entire stay here in Manila.

Ano ba ginawa ko sa ‘yo to treat me this way? Ano ba kasalanan ko sa ‘yo? Hindi talaga kita maintindihan. Ganun ba kasama ang childhood mo at gusto mong gumanti sa mga taong nagmamahal sa ‘yo? I really don’t get it.

Baka naman gusto mo pang itanong sa ‘kin kung bakit ako nakikipag-break sa ‘yo? For obvious reasons that you’re not treating me as a boyfriend and you’re no longer in love with me. Pero I’m not the bitter type of ex-boyfriend naman. I would still thank you for all the things you’ve done for me. The greatest of which is natuto akong mag-blog because of my love for you.

Baka naman akusahan mo pa ako na may iba na kong boyfriend or mahal. Kapal naman ng mukha mo kung yun ang iniisip mo. I can proudly say to everyone that you’re still my last kiss and my last sex. Yun nga lang, that was two years ago.

Oreo, thank you, for everything. Tulad ng lagi kong sinasabi sa ‘yo, I will always love you, the same way that I always love all my ex-bfs. I love you all as friends. BTW, I’m giving you the benefit of replying to his email first before I publish this to our blog.

Your ex-bf,

Elmer

I gave him enough time to respond to the email and my FB message but he never replied. I can see that he’s online in FB but he doesn’t chat with me. So I never got to hear his side of the story and I never got the chance to publish his reply here in our blog (or should I say my blog).

I did undergo the 5 Stages of Grief (Denial, Anger, Bargaining, Depression, and Acceptance) for the loss of my love for Oreo. I can say that I have accepted what happened. I am now ready to move on. Thus, I can now publish this penultimate post.

My last post would be a link to a new blog. A blog dedicated to me and about me. I won’t tie my future blog to someone so that I don’t have to undergo this process again. Hope to see you guys in my next blog and I thank you all for being with me for the past few months.

Another thing that happened to me because of this blog is that I met new friends: fellow bloggers and readers.

Meeting My Boyfriend After 2 Years

Just a quick post before I go to sleep. Yesterday, I finally meet my boyfriend again, after two years. I can’t describe the feeling. I was happy to see him again and at the same time shy. I barely talked the whole time. It was like… meeting a long-time text buddy / Facebook friend… for the first time.

It was just a quick meet up. I was on my way home to sleep and he’s also on his way to a friend’s party. He has his friend with him that added to my shyness. We met at Starbucks Megamall and we just had coffee. It was very casual. I’m really sorry to disappoint you my readers, but our meet up wasn’t at all romantic. It’s like, two old friends, meeting up after two years. Probably I was very sleepy the whole time that my romantic side didn’t kicked in.

I’m very happy to see Oreo though.

Tomorrow’s my rest day so hopefully he’s not busy and we could give each other some “alone time” together so that we talk and get to know each other, again.

Happy 2nd Anniversary Hon!

2nd anniversary

I can’t believe that today is our 2nd Anniversary! I checked my calendar twice, and yes, it is September 18 today. Our 2nd Year Anniversary!

Happy 2nd Anniversary Hon, my Oreo, my better-half, partner, lover, friend. You’re the one person that I imagine living the rest of my life with. Thank you for everything and I’m looking forward to see you again. I love you!

Like what Tobie (a blogger friend) said: “"Another year added to the rest of our lives together."

DSLR

That’s the acronym of Digital Single-Lens Reflex camera. It’s the high-end camera that every photographer dreams of having. Fortunately for my lover Oreo, he already has one. Yes, he recently purchased a Nikon DSLR (I forgot to ask for the exact model). I am so envious!

299638_267483316604417_100000282534207_1066661_989434_n312986_267482903271125_100000282534207_1066660_4668674_n

I’m planning to buy one myself but that would take all my 13th month pay and Sick Leave (SL) conversions combined to buy at least the Nikon D3000 or Canon EOS 1000d. I can’t wait for December!

I would then take a photography class (if I can afford Ian Felix Alquiros’ talent fee) and start shooting! I would probably have a photo blog as well. The possibilities are endless.

Oreo will be arriving in less than a month and we haven’t talked about our plans after his arrival. He hasn’t decided yet, whether he’ll return back to Saudi Arabia after a month’s vacation or he’ll stay here for good. How can I convince him to stay here in the Philippines for good if he obviously gets the gadgets he wanted if he works in Saudi?

Theoretically, it’s good if he’ll stay here in the Philippines for good. We’ll live together, rent an apartment, works in the same industry (same company if possible) and live a simple, average Filipino lifestyle. On the other side, he can return to Saudi and have another Long Distance Relationship with me. I am (at this point) is still not ready to work in Saudi because I still don’t have a passport and I haven’t applied to a local recruitment agency yet.

I’m afraid to go out of my comfort zone, go out of the country, and work abroad like so many OFWs, like my lover Oreo. Probably, once he’s here in the country, with me, I’ll ask him all about his experiences in Saudi. I’ll ask if he would really recommend me to work there, with him.

Hopefully, I would hear Oreo say that working abroad is like using a DSLR camera. It’s very complicated at first with all these lens and settings, but when we get use to it, our “outlook” and perspective of life would change for the better.

Thus begins the debate on whether to go abroad or not.

Less Than a Month

calendar

My lover Oreo will be arriving in less than a month. I have mixed feelings about this. First, I’m excited because I’ll finally have someone to sleep with (after his 2-year contract in Saudi) again. I always love sleeping next to the one I love.

Second, I’m excited because we’ll be courting each other again. We’ll go on dates, we’ll do things gay couples do, and we’ll watch movies, take pictures together.

Third, we’ll be meeting each other’s relatives and family. There’s always the fear in doing things the first time.

I can’t believe that it’s been two years since I met him. It’s been two years since we dated for two weeks, made love, watched two movies, texted endlessly, and talked over the phone.

It’s been two years since he flew for Saudi Arabia to work as an executive secretary. We’ve been in constant communications with each other through emails, YM, and Facebook. We’ve argued and reconciled, we’ve talked endlessly about being married to each other and live together.

All of a sudden, I realized that he’ll be arriving in less than a month. I haven’t prepared my passport yet, in case he decides to leave again for Saudi. I’m still hoping though, that he’ll decide to stay for good, here in the Philippines. I’ll better prepare my passport soon. It’s always a good idea to be prepared.

How time flies so fast.

Money, Money, Money

One of the things that I like about Oreo is his hobby of collecting paper bills. I tried to collect paper bills of foreign currency as well but I wasn’t able to maintain it. Oreo on the other hand is patient with his collection and he’s doing it on a regular basis. That’s the essential part of any hobby: the ability to maintain it. Without further ado, here’s my lover’s collection of money, money, money.

185227_258327147520034_100000282534207_1028905_5903877_n196562_205862359433180_100000282534207_770526_8034572_n199466_205862536099829_100000282534207_770528_7124712_n199790_205862666099816_100000282534207_770529_5012682_n199792_205861239433292_100000282534207_770516_8268032_n204714_205861722766577_100000282534207_770522_2270310_o205596_205862056099877_100000282534207_770524_6296591_n206324_205861876099895_100000282534207_770523_7695835_n207157_205865612766188_100000282534207_770590_894528_n207364_205862759433140_100000282534207_770530_2936837_n208097_205862446099838_100000282534207_770527_1997156_n208243_205863019433114_100000282534207_770533_6796136_n

Happy 23rd Monthsary Hon!

happy anniversary2

Happy 23rd Monthsary Hon! Thank you for being patient with me. Thank you for understanding my shortcomings. Thank you for being my friend. I can’t believe that we’re currently at 23 months of being lovers (including our 3 months cool-off). Wow, it’s a milestone! That’s probably the reason why gay lovers usually celebrates anniversaries in the number of months.

Next month is our 2nd Year Anniversary! In spite of the distance (you being in Saudi and me being in Pasig), we manage to keep in touch through this blog which I made for you. Facebook also helped us a lot in keeping in touch as well as YM and emails.

With these tools in place, any Long Distance Relationship would definitely work. Thank you very much for staying with me for all these months. I love you! I promise to be with you for as long as I shall live.

Oreo’s New Shirts

Yesterday, my lover Oreo went shopping. I forgot the name of the mall in Saudi Arabia. He had a wonderful time shopping for new shirts. He’s into clothes and fashionable. My exact opposite :)

I learned via Facebook chat that he liked the Banana Republic shirt the most. O divah? Vungga ang mga brands! (The brands are of high quality, right?)

Two more months and we’ll finally shop for clothes together. Holding Hands While Walking Pa-Sway Sway Pa (HHWWPSSP) in the mall.

Reconciliation

This is a follow-up post on my status with Oreo. It all started with the Lover’s Quarrel post. It was then followed by the New Beginning post. Last July 3, I received a blog comment from Oreo as well as a PM via Facebook. He was disappointed that I gave up on our relationship without realizing that he’s only keeping his distance from me a.k.a. Cool-Off. In short, we’re back together as lovers. We’re still apart from each other but we’re still a couple.

He’s been asking me to announce it through this blog but I can’t think of a way to announce it. I thought of publishing our recent Facebook chat about the reconciliation. I hope he agrees with the publication (or else, another quarrel hehe).

Oreo, I thank you very much for forgiving my shortcomings. I hope to be a better lover. I can’t wait for your return in October this year. I can’t believe that your 2-year contract is almost over. I love you, always.

“Buking” (Was Found Out)

800px-DesertEagle_50AE

In our free speech today, we were asked to write one question on a piece of paper, and one-by-one, we pick one question for us to answer. I got the question:

The love of your life has been infected by a virus that causes a person to die and then turn them to a heartless, mindless, and soulless zombies who eat human beings. You have a .50 Dessert Eagle with 1 bullet. How would you use the gun and its 1 bullet? Why?

I don’t know what a .50 Dessert Eagle, so I asked about it from my classmates. I was advised it was a sort of pistol. Then I answered the question with the pronoun “him” (I was thinking of Oreo), the whole class was in uproar! I realized, they’re actually expecting the pronoun “her”. I smiled, corrected myself, and went on with my answer. Something like:

I would definitely shoot him, I mean, her, with the pistol. I don’t want her to see me die in the hands of those zombies.

I know, it wasn’t the smartest of answers, because it’s an impromptu speech and also, partly because of my initial “slip of the tongue” (using the pronoun “him”). I don’t want to explain myself to the class and tell them, “it’s actually correct since I’m gay and I’m really referring to my male lover Oreo”.

I tried my best to keep a low profile about my sexual preference. Don’t get me wrong, I’m happy being gay but I don’t want to broadcast it at work (even though it’s a call center) since I hate being stereo-typed as another gay “parlorista”. They don’t seem to know that there are so many “variants” of gays, other than the “parlorista” type.

So I act as straight as possible when I’m at work. But if I was ask, if I’m gay, I give a straight “yes” answer. I don’t deny it. But I want people to ask it, straight to my face.

Also, I’m one of those gays who don’t have the fantasy to cross-dress or join a beauty contest. I don’t want to be a drag queen and I don’t want to be called “pretty”. I always wanted to be like gay-porn stars: straight on the outside, but definitely gay inside. Handsome gays. I enjoy being a “paminta” (literally, “pepper” but it’s similar to butch gays). Some call it discreet or closet-gay.

What I don’t understand from the “parlorista” type of gays, is their thinking that we’re hypocrite and doesn’t want to “come out of the closet”. But I am already out of the closet! It’s just not my cup-of-tea to be in a dress or to be a pa-girl.

I’m really laughing right now because of the slip of the tongue. “Nabuking tuloy ako” (I was found out to be gay). If ever one of my classmates would ask me later if I’m gay, I would definitely say “yes, and I’m happy about it”.

Saudi Riyal

riyal2 riyal

That’s my lover Oreo, counting money for his Saudi employer. I wonder how much money is in the pictures. The last time I check, 1 Saudi Riyal (SAR) =  11.58 Philippine Pesos (PHP).

He’s been working there as a commissioning secretary since 2009. He’s due to return in the country in October this year.

Oreo’s Shoes

My lover is into shoes. So among the first things that he acquired, while working in Saudi Arabia, are shoes! Here are his latest collection:

What Happens in Vegas

Oreo recommended the film to me. He said that this is his new favorite film (along with The Notebook). I have no idea that Cameron Diaz and Ashton Kutcher had this movie in 2008.
what happens in vegas
I’m not good at giving summaries of film but here it goes. Jack (Kutcher) met Joy (Diaz) in Vegas after he decided to have a vacation with his buddy Hater. Jack just got fired from a furniture company owned by his dad (his dad fired him). Joy, was a sweet loving girl, who got dumped on his boyfriend’s surprised birthday party.
So Jack and Joy met in Vegas, on the same hotel room which was given to both of them by mistake. The hotel management rewarded them with several freebies as compensation for their complaints. So Joy and Jack went to see Vegas, they got to know each other, got drunk. And they decided to get married!
The next day, they regret their decision and decided to separate ways. At that moment, Jack hit the 3 million jackpot in the slot machine using Joy’s penny. Jack and Joy both want to have the money for themselves and decided to get a divorce. The judge however, decided to settle their differences within six months and live as a couple to be able to get the money.
They live with each other, annoyed by each other’s differences. Did all sort of things to get separated (by cheating spouses) just to get the money.  During the 6 month period, they got to know each other, realized that the other has certain characteristics that they love. Jack coaches for little league and Joy is a dedicated employee. Jack eventually fell in love with Joy.
After 6 months, when they met again with the judge, Joy decided to grant the divorce to Jack and reward what remains of their 3 million dollar jackpot prize. Joy then quits her job and went on solitude in a lighthouse. Jack, who really loves Joy at this point, searched for Joy using the picture that she left in their apartment, searching the 5 nearest lighthouse just to look for Joy. He eventually asked Joy to marry him, again. Joy said “YES!”.
--------
In a way, it’s similar to my relationship with Oreo. We met, dated, have sex, said “I love you” to one another within two weeks. Then we parted ways since he needs to work in Saudi. It was followed by months of getting to know each other more, loving each other more. There are certain traits and attitudes that he hates about me, but accepts me anyways.
As we approach our 18th monthsary (of being away from each other), we have known each other more through constant communications via Facebook, YM, texts, chats, emails. And we love and accepts each other as individual. We hope to get married, again, this year, when he comes home. I love you Oreo!

I want to thank you also for sticking with me for the past 16 months and for doing everything in your power to keep this relationship going in spite of the distance. We had our arguments before, you listened, you understand, and I love you more for that. I hope to grow old with you.
Happy Valentine’s Day as well! Even though we’re not physically together, in my heart and my mind, it’s you that I’m always making love with. I will love you and I will keep our vow, for as long as we both shall live.
I love you so much Oreo! You are truly, God’s gift to me.

Inside My Boyfriend's Ref

My boyfriend Oreo likes to drink milk and fruit juices. He's also into yogurt. Take a look inside my boyfriend's refrigerator. Pretty much healthy food, right?

These items are available in Saudi Arabia, by the way, where Oreo is currently working until October 2011. Hope he could bring some of these so I could taste it myself.

Facebook Games and My Oreo

I currently play 4 Facebook Games: Social City, My Empire, Cafe World and FarmVille. In these games, Ore's name is etched! It's my simple way of expressing my gratitude for the love he's giving me. I specially like FarmVille since you could really arrange the components of your farm to express how you fell. In my farm, it's "I Love U Oreo".
