“Bahay Aruga” and “Bahay Pag-asa”

It’s my rest day and I’m thinking of places to visit and feature in this blog. Since I’m near the location of Pasig City’s “Bahay Aruga” (literally, House of Care) and “Bahay Pag-asa” (House of Hope), I decided to take some pictures of this center for the juvenile delinquents.

I’m surprised to see a huge, white mansion besides the Pasig City Jail. It’s like a large duplex-house. “Bahay Aruga”  and “Bahay Pag-asa” is an intervention center for minors that are in conflict with the law. It was set up by Pasig City Mayor Roberto “Bobby” Eusebio. It’s located along Molave Street, Nagpayong, Pinagbuhatan, Pasig City.

This project is the city government’s respond to the RA 0334 or the Juvenile Justice and Welfare Act of 2006. It was a law authored by Sen. Francisco Pangilinan. Unfortunately, I wasn’t allowed inside this facility to take more pictures but it’s good to know that the government is doing something for the juvenile delinquents. Especially now that the topic is a hot issue ever since that CCTV camera took videos of kids involved in crimes along Guadalupe, Makati.

Adjacent to the “Bahay Aruga”  and “Bahay Pag-asa” is a housing project by the Habitat for Humanity Philippines. I’ll post the pictures tomorrow.

Neighboring Buildings

I’m a newbie when it comes to photography. I haven’t taken a formal class in photography (which I plan to take soon) but whenever there’s an opportunity, I try to practice taking pictures.

I love taking pictures of buildings because it’s easier (they don’t move!). Once I master the art of taking pictures of buildings, I plan to move on with the hard subjects – the ones that moves!

I sure hope to get that dream DSLR camera this Christmas so that I could present you with better pictures. By the way, these are the neighboring buildings of our current building – the PhilPlans Corporate Center. I’m back to training and I’m back to this building. The nearest buildings to PhilPlans are the CVCLAW Center and the white building with the letter “W” on the upper portion.

View From Above

I’m scanning my hard drive for pictures that I can with you guys while I’m thinking of topics to blog, when I stumble upon these pictures taken from the 12th floor balcony of PhilPlans Corporate Center. It’s taken around 6 or 7am.

Opposite our building is Villa Kalayaan (along Kalayaan Avenue, Bonifacio Global City).

The [Makati] Road Less Travelled

This morning, I toured around Legaspi Village in Makati City. I walked along the less travelled roads in Makati City like Amorsolo, Gamboa, Benavidez, Salcedo among others. It’s fun to walk around the city and see the other buildings and places not frequently seen if I ride a bus via Ayala-Cubao.
