ALDUB’s National Pabebe Wave Day

Today is declared as National Pabebe Wave Day by the ALDUB Nation – the fandom of Alden Richards and Maine Mendoza a.k.a. Yaya Dub.

Today will also mark ALDUB’s 2nd Date and the start of Alden’s courtship of Yaya Dub at the Mansyon – home of Lola Nidora. If you’re clueless on what I’m talking about, you can open your Twitter account and search for today’s Official Hashtag #ALDubEBforLOVE.

The fun tandem of ALDUB is the hottest love team in the Philippines today. It’s been talked about on newspaper, TV, Twitter, and the Internet. Their highest number of Tweets reached 12.1 million last week – and today, it’s expected that they’ll break their own record.

#ALDubEBforLOVE is surely a celebration of love, unity, good vibes and fun, not just for the ALDUB Nation but for all Filipinos here and abroad.

The Amazing Race Season 24 (All-Stars)

I’m happy to know that the 24th season of The Amazing Race began airing yesterday. I’m happy to see familiar teams in the roster of contestants but I was disappointed that James and Jaymes (Chippendales) was not included.

I’m happy to see my favorite team of all time, Jet and Cord, to compete again! I wish them success. Other teams that I was happy to be included in this All-Stars Edition are the father and son team of Dave and Connor.

I was happy to see that Mark and Bopper was included in the line-up, but Bopper was replaced by Mallory Ervin because of a life-threatening illness. I’m also happy to see Joey of the YouTube team and Brendon of the Big Brother team.

Here are the complete list of the teams competing for All-Stars, from Wikipedia:

This season's 11 teams are selected from past contestants, going as far back as Season 14. The season includes three teams who will compete for a third time after participation in Season 18 Unfinished Business.[4]

The returning teams and their prior race placements are:

  • From Season 18:
    • Margie O'Donnell (previously Adams) and Luke Adams, mother and son, 8th place (3rd place in their original appearance in Season 14)
    • Herbert "Flight Time" Lang and Nathaniel "Big Easy" Lofton, teammates on the Harlem Globetrotters, 2nd place (4th place in their original appearance in Season 15)
    • Jet and Cord McCoy, brothers and rodeo cowboys, 6th place (2nd place in their original appearance in Season 16)
  • From Season 20:
    • Brendon Villegas and Rachel Reilly, newlyweds (engaged in season 20), 3rd place
  • From Season 21:
    • Natalie and Nadiya Anderson, twin sisters, 4th place
  • From Season 22:
    • Caroline Cutbirth and Jennifer Kuhle, friends and country singers in the Stealing Angels, 4th place
    • Dave and Connor O'Leary, father and son, 8th place
    • Jessica Hoel and John Erck, engaged (dating in season 22), 9th place
    • Joseph "Joey" Graceffa and Meghan Camarena, best friends and YouTube vloggers, 5th place
  • From Season 23:
    • Leo Temory and Jamal Zadran, cousins, 4th place (The Afghannimals)
  • Composite Team:
    • Mark Jackson, 5th place in Season 20 and Mallory Ervin, 3rd place in Season 18 (6th place in her original appearance in Season 17) 1

^1 Jackson was originally teamed with his partner from Season 20, William "Bopper" Minton. However, Bopper was deemed by the race doctor as unfit to race, so he was replaced by Mallory Ervin from seasons 17 and 18.

Grant Gustin as Barry Allen (The Flash)

I’m a fan of the TV series “Arrow” and I saw a gorgeous guy by the name of Grant Gustin. He is cast as Barry Allen (The Flash) and is scheduled to appear in a spin-off series for The Flash.

Thomas Grant Gustin (born in 1990) is best known as Sebastian Smythe of Glee. Now, I can’t wait to see him wear the yellow-red costume of The Flash. I love guys that are not so muscular and has angelic faces.

Matt and Tyler for Season 5 of The Vampire Diaries

Anyone else here watches “The Vampire Diaries”? Season 5 will premiere in the US on October 3 and hopefully it will soon be available for the rest of the world after that. They recently posted the pictures of Matt Donovan (played by actor Zach Roerig) and Tyler Lockwood (actor Michael Trevino) on their Official Facebook Page. Hopefully, they’ll post pictures of Jeremy Gilbert (actor Steven McQueen) and Kol Mikaelson (actor Nathaniel Buzolic). These guys are the reason why I keep on watching the series even though it deviated so much from the novel.

TomDen Love Team

As far as I know, this is the first time in Philippine television that gay love will take center state. “My Husband’s Lover” is indeed something to look forward to. It will be aired tonight, July 10, 2013 so let’s all watch it.

Congratulations to GMA Network for coming up with a tele-novela that is not mainstream and for educating the public that there really exist love between two guys. Two good-looking and discreet guys.

Since they’re both Hanford models, would it be too much to ask them to strip to their underwear on primetime TV? Smile

Vampire Diaries Season 4

I’ve been watching The Vampire Diaries since Season 1. Now it’s already running Season 4 and Elena Gilbert is already a vampire. I was shocked at this development since in the novel, she never became a vampire. In fact, in the movie, she became sort of an angel with powers that rivals that of Bonnie.

Anyway, I’m still watching the latest season simply because of the hunks – Matt, Jeremy and Tyler. I love Jeremy (actor Steven McQueen) the most.

Too Much On My Plate

I’m falling in love with you, Matteo.

My rest day is almost over and I can’t think of a single topic that I want to blog about. Perhaps, I really have too much on my plate right now. Let me list down some of the the topics that I want to write about but I can’t elaborate more on the subject:

1. The Smurfs in 3D – My Best Friend Forever (BFF) and I watched this fabulous movie yesterday at SM Megamall. The price of the ticket is P300 and there are not much 3D effects in the movie itself. The bonus part was Neil Patrick Harris was there (one of my favorites) because I never saw the trailer. Also, the setting is New York City which I always love to see on film. I’ve always loved The Smurfs since the TV series. I always admire it for introducing the very first gay cartoon character I’ve ever seen – Vanity Smurf! Also, before the famous “diversity” motto that is very popular in the call center industry, there is already the diversity in the Smurfs village. Talk about being first.

2. “Language, Learning, Identity, Privilege" – It’s an article by James Soriano, a student of the Ateneo de Manila University. He’s also a columnist at Manila Bulletin Online where the article was published and later, taken down. You probably heard it on the news or read the whole article. The main point of his article is “For while Filipino may be the language of identity, it is the language of the streets. It might have the capacity to be the language of learning, but it is not the language of the learned.”

Well, there are truths to some of the things he said. Being well-versed in English will give you higher paying jobs (like call centers with foreign clients) that it’s local equivalent (call center with local clients). However, it’s not because Filipino is inferior to English in any way, but because of the difference on how much a foreign client pays than the local client.

Languages, like Human Beings, are born equal. Language comes from God. Remember The Tower of Babel (Genesis 11:1-9)? Who are we to say that one language is superior to the other?

3. Xian Lim, Matteo Guidicelli, “My Binondo Girl” – I’ve seen the trailer a while ago and I wanted to watch it simply because Matteo and Xian were there. I even saw their latest video on Xian’s YouTube channel about the prank they did in Hong Kong. I think I’m deeply falling in love with Matteo. I’m discovering a lot about him through Xian’s channel.

4. My best friend in college has a Tumblr blog – Yup, and I love his blog! I always admire his superior skills in English and I’ve only seen his full potential when I saw his Tumblr blog. It’s simply amazing. I remember him as this loner way back in first year college. I got attracted to his silent-type character, dimples and deep personally. I generally like silent-type guys. He’s tall, skinny, fair and a Kapampangan. He’s fond of watching movies, reading magazines, and music. I remember purchasing my first ever cassette tape with him. It was The Moffatts’ “Chapter 1: A New Beginning”. Too bad that after college, we lost communication and our friendship drifted away. Thank God for Facebook, I was able to communicate with him again. However, the friendship is no longer the same. He seems to be a different person than my Best Friend in college. I swear, I’ve fallen in love with him before.

5. First Facebook Libel Case in the Philippines – It was between Dr. Vicky Belo and Atty. Argee Guevarra. Thank God, there is still no law about online libel and that Facebook continues to be a place to practice free speech.

Well, there are other things on my plate right now but I guess that would be all for now. I hope I didn’t bore you.

The Child In Me

avengersEarthsMightiestHeroes

Have I told you that I’m a big fan of both Marvel and DC Comics? I’m also a big fan of the animation series from both comics companies. I watched all the episodes of Justice League and right now, I’m watching The Avengers: Earth’s Mightiest Heroes on YouTube.

avengersEarthsMightiestHeroes031

The show is currently on its season 1 and it stars Hawkeye, The Hulk, Captain America, Iron Man, Giant Man / Ant Man, Wasp, Thor and Black Panther. It also has guess appearance from other Marvel Super Heroes like the Fantastic Four. My favorite among them is the Norse God of Thunder, Thor as well as the scientist Giant Man / Ant Man. The latter can be as big as Apache Chief (of the Super Friends) but not as small as The Atom (of DC Universe).

avengers-earths-mightiest-heroes

The show is currently being aired at Disney Channel. Thanks to Witchcraftial, you can also watch it on YouTube.

As I’m typing this post, I just received a notification from his YouTube channel that Avengers Episode 23 is available for watching. Let me just end this post for now, watch the newest episode, then probably tell you more about my favorite animations later.

Are you also a fan of Marvel and DC Animations?

Ian Somerhalder a.k.a. Damon Salvatore

I have never heard the name until I stumbled upon the TV adaptation of L.J. Smith’s “The Vampire Diaries”. He plays Damon Salvatore, a vampire, brother of Stefan Salvatore (another vampire), love interest of the heroine Elena Gilbert.
He played the character of Damon Salvatore very well – attractive, sarcastic, witty, vengeful. He has shown his gorgeous physique in the show and he’s one of the hottest item in Hollywood today.

Happy Yipee Yehey!

This is the first show I’ve ever watched live. March 2, 2011. I’ll mark the date. First time to experience the ABS-CBN Studio tour (at P150/each). We got to see the set of ASAP, SNN, The Price is Right, the Dolphy Theater (a.k.a. Studio 1) and a guaranteed seat at Happy Yipee Yehey.

I got to see Toni Gonzaga, Mariel Rodriguez, John Estrada, Mateo, John Pratts, Luis Manzano (guest), Randy Santiago, Bentong, and others in person. Plus the fact that my Aunt felt thankful for accompanying her to the show, it was a nice experience being a studio audience.

I guess the thing that separated today’s episode from all other episodes of HYY is the presence of a Mayor from Hawaii as part of the studio audience.

I can’t resist my Aunt, who’s a big fan of ABS-CBN, when she asked me to watch the show with her. She’s on vacation. She lives in California.
