“Palaspas”

IMG_2934

“Palaspas” (decorative palm fronds) is part of a Filipino Catholic’s celebration of Palm Sunday. It’s mostly made from young coconut palm leaves. It’s brought to the Church to be blessed by the priest and it commemorates Jesus’ entry to Jerusalem (Matthew 21:1-3, 6-11).

“Palaspas” itself is a work of art, with different designs and decorations. Check out the following pictures I took today.
