Ragnarok Online Philippines CBT Starts June 20, 2017

First, my apologies for not updating this blog for several months now. I’m busy playing Ragnarok Online at the International Server. Yes, Ragnarok Online is very much alive even after these years.

In fact, Ragnarok Online Philippines will be relaunch in the Philippines and the Closed Beta Testing (CBT) will start June 20, 2017. It will be handled by a new publisher – Thailand-based Electronics Extreme. Its local partner in the Philippines will be Elite Global Sourcing.

So I’ll be busy for a while but don’t worry, I’ll still be writing articles on this blog. Just stay tuned.

Resurrection!

Resurrection is a skill in Ragnarok Online wherein a priest (or any character that has a Yggdrasil Leaf) can revive a dead player.

I want to use that skill now to revive this blog since Oreo and I remained friends after we broke up in October 2011. I probably would post my stories related to my life as a callboy (call center agent) in this blog.

This blog is also receiving a decent traffic for my Nuffnang account so it would be a wise idea to continue blogging here.

So… expect some post from this blog soon. I’m on the process of revamping all the layout of my blogs right now to incorporate the Like button of Facebook.

RWC 2011 Cosplay Competition

This year, cosplay competition is one of the side events of Ragnarok World Championship in Seoul, Korea. Cosplay has been integrated into the Ragnarok world since it was launched in 2003. Here in the Philippines, cosplay always takes place on Day 2 of the annual Level Up! Live. It’s one of the most favorite part of the celebration.

Let’s take a look at the 2011 Cosplay Competition entries from different participating countries. As you can see, the Archbishop is a favorite character to cosplay, as well as the Stalker, Ninja, and Royal Guard. The Philippine entries are the Soul Linker, Royal Guard and the male Ranger.

Ragnarok World Championship (RWC) 2011

The Official Website of this year’s Ragnarok World Championship (RWC) is open! Please click here to visit.

RWC is a yearly event amongst nations with Ragnarok Online. It consists of different events that culminates in a 7 x 7 match between teams from different countries.

It's been held since 2003 and continues to attract Ragnarok enthusiasts from all over South East Asia, the US, Brazil, and Europe.

It was held in Seoul, Korea since 2003. However, in 2008, it was held outside of Korea for the first time. I was there when it was held at the World Trade Center, Manila.

In 2009 it was held in Yokohama, Japan followed by Indonesia in 2010. This year, it's again being hosted by Korea with several side events like the Cosplay and Fan Art. The final match will be on October 11, 2011.

Ragnarok Online: Still #1

Ragnarok Online, the country’s first Massively Multiplayer Online Role-Playing Game (MMORPG) is still the country’s Most Popular Online Game. That is after 8 years of existence. Yes, Philippine Ragnarok Online (pRO) is celebrating it’s 8th Year Anniversary this year. It’s been around since 2003.

This is according to Asia Online Game Awards, a Chinese website. I am not surprised about this. If you could visit the servers of Ragnarok, particularly Valkyrie and New Loki, you would be amazed on how many players are still playing this game. This is still Level Up! Games’ flagship game (after 8 years!).

Why do I love Ragnarok Online so much? First, it’s the first online game I’ve ever played (and I’m still playing it up to this time!). Second, I’ve met A LOT of friends through this online game. I have attended several Grande Eye Ball (GEB) with my fellow guild members. Lastly, I have so much fun playing this game that my computer is full of screenshots of our moments in-game. I wish kids today would discover (and rediscover) the joys of playing this Most Popular Online Game in the Philippines.

I hope Oreo would one day play this game with me.

Level Up! Live 2010 Cosplayers

The annual gaming event conducted by Level Up! Games (LUG) is fast approaching. I always attend this annual 2-day event, which is usually held at the World Trade Center, Pasay City. It’s a gathering of online gamers to watch the finals of LUG’s games like Ragnarok Online, RF Online, Grand Chase, Rohan, among others.

I usually attend Day 2 of this event since it is when the Cosplay competition takes place. Cosplayers dress up to their favorite characters (mostly from Ragnarok and RF) and compete for that Best Cosplayer award. I have here the pictures of last year’s cosplayers. I even have a picture of Jayem Sison (quite blur), a famous cosplayer because of his 6-pack abs.
