That HOT TV series called "Heated Rivalry"

I’m looking forward for Episode 5 of the highly successful “Heated Rivalry”. It’s the latest (and for me, the best so far) gay-themed TV series on the net. It stars Hudson Williams as Shane Hollander and Connor Storrie as Ilya Rozanov. They’re professional hockey players on the opposing team.

They appear to be rivals on the ice, but they are secretly hooking up after the games. The TV series is based on a novel by Rachel Reid called “Game Changers”. It’s a six-novel series about different relationships in hockey and 2 of those novels are about Shane and Ilya — “Heated Rivalry” and “The Long Game”.

I read both novels and *spoilers* — it has a happy ending. It’s a relief from all these gay-themed movies and series that has no happy ending, that usually leads to one party being dead. I guess the gay community got tired of these not-happy ending movies and series.

That’s probably the reason that t’s very successful, even on the first 2 episodes. And the visuals are so HOT — great hook-up scenes, showers and bed scenes. The type of visuals that you would never see in a Philippine primetime TV series — not in the next 200 years.

The series is produced by Canadian network Crave and is available on HBO Max. I heard that it will soon be available in the country via HBO, probably by Episode 5 this Friday night, Manila Time.

I’ve watched a lot of the lead stars interviews — and to my surprise, Connor Storrie is not Russian. He studied his Russian accent so well that I’m convince he’s Russian. Both Hudson and Connor have this great facial expression that they convey a lot of different emotions by moving some facial muscles.

Due to the popularity of the show, it was renewed for Season 2 just after 3 episodes were shown. That’s the fastest news of a TV show’s renewal that I’ve ever heard.

The last time I felt this way towards a TV show (or YouTube show) was during pandemic with the Thai BL Series “2gether”. This one is way better with the story and yes, the bed scenes.

What’s your opinion about this gay TV series?
